The Chambéry Institute, in the heart of the Alps Created here in 1992, IFALPES welcomes you to the Château de Boigne, an 18th century castle surrounded by roses and tall trees in a vast park. 90 to 150 students of all ages come to IFALPES every month from about 45 different countries. Chambéry will share its thousand years of history with you and at the same time project you into its modernity.

Environment Chambéry is the perfect starting point for discovering our natural beauty spots (Vanois and Chartreuse parks), local and also more famous ski resorts (Tignes, Val Thorens, La Féclaz) and nearby big cities such as Geneva, Lyon, Turin and Milan.

Chambéry, the historical capital of the county of Savoie is a town rich in culture with its wide pedestrian avenues and many shops. The Saturday morning market, the carillon and the monthly antique market give an authentic feel to the town.
Chamberiens are very welcoming which makes Chambéry a nice place to stay. Chambéry’s resources are mainly from its local shops and businesses which attract the population of the surrounding valleys. As a university town, Chambéry is calmer in the summer when the students have gone home.
Between 2 national parks and only 20 minutes on bicycle from the Bourget Lake, Chambéry is perfect for nature lovers and outdoor people.
